The Rev. Spenser Simrill served congregations in New Jersey, Kentucky, Ohio, Minnesota, and Georgia. Rev. Simrill has established partnerships in Haiti, Cuba, South Africa, & taught in W. Tanzania seminary. Recently, he has held the position of the Director of Pastoral Care, Canterbury Court, Atlanta, GA. Married to his bride, Stuart, of 51 years, Rev. Simrill is also her assistant beekeeper. They are blessed with 4 children and 3 grandchildren. He enjoys dancing, golf, reading, camping, & sitting in the woods near a brook.
The Reverend Canon Karen Montagno
Spiritual Director
The Rev. Karen Montagno is a retreat leader, spiritual director, contemplative prayer leader, and writer - involved in community justice, interfaith and peace movements. She is a Board member of Spiritual Directors of Color.
Rev. Karen is the Co-editor of “Injustice And The Care Of Souls”, 2nd edition. She is an avid learner. Her current explorations are: African American life and deep history/mystery/spirituality, cooking, a plant lover including learning orchids and ferns.

Catherine Meeks, PHd
Resident Spiritual Sage, Racial Healing Reconciler, and Griot.
Dr. Catherine Meeks is the creator of Turquoise & Lavender Institute for Transformation and Healing. Dr. Meeks is the 2022 recipient of the President Joseph R. Biden Lifetime Achievement Award for Service and served as the Founding Executive Director of the Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing.
A sought-after teacher and workshop leader, Catherine brings four decades of experience to the work of transforming the dismantling of racism work in Atlanta. The core of her work has been with people who have been marginalized because of economic status, race, gender or physical ability as they pursue liberation, justice and access to resources that can help lead them to health, wellness and a more abundant life. This work grows out of her understanding of her call to the vocation of teaching as well as her realization that all of humanity is one family which God desires to unite.
